Book Title: Love.exe
Author: Manju Nambiar
Format: E book
Language: English

Love.exe by Manju Nambiar is a  sweet  love story  told with a tinge of humor which  I instantly got hooked to. There is something charming about old school love stories that you never get tired of . This is one such tale and yet is a slice of present day life. The characters are relatable and genuine which makes one fall for them immediately. They just take you along their journey , and the journey as such is so engaging that you will never complain.

Blurb:

The story is  about Nitya Balakrishnan a young girl from Kerala . She is a bright student whose life revolves around family and friends. After her Computer science Engineering  she gets an opportunity to pursue Masters in one of the best universities in US. Nitya’s apprehensive parents , considering her safe future brings the proposal  of Ganapaty a US settled boy. Contrary to Nitya’s expectation she gets smitten by the charming gentleman but due  to occurrence of certain unprecedented events all their plans go haywire  . What happens to her dreams and their relation thereafter. The story of  Love .Exe is about all of that.

Plot and Character

The story has a beautiful graph with the highs and emotions  in the right place  to keep the reader captivated throughout. The pace is perfectly engaging and  there was never any lagging section. Even in Nitya’s Stanford college  days which could have been a slightly slow section Nitya and her friend  Andy pepped up things. The shift of location be it Kerala ,US or other places and there by introduction of new characters as well as  setup avoids monotony .It brings a freshness ,at the same time each of them added value to the plot. Every character has some USP. Not just the two main protagonists but other characters including both their parents , friends    and the shortest character in presence probably being  Appunni had something true and likable about them. Everything about the main protagonists were very contemporary and realistic that you could immediately relate. Apart from the character one other thing I found as a plus is authenticity in the writing of the author.

Authenticity …

probably due to familiarity of the author with the premises in the story we feel like the book is  a first-hand narration by someone called  Nitya who just lived through all this. The detailing  is so perfect that you get literally transformed to that place and experience .The reader have a feeling of visiting and witnessing all those along with the characters .

Story telling.

The initial impression of a book is conveyed to reader through  the cover . Here it has a cute cover which is apt for the book . The author has told the story in a simple language with real care being given to bring out the emotions. Though there are no literary outpourings as such the author  has always conveyed the feelings and experience  through the right usage of words or metaphors. Really loved the humor elements and today’s real life portrayal of Nitya.

The slight surprise in the end was a cherry on the cake.  It truly brings a fulfilling feeling to the reader .

If you like reading feel good , fun, love tales this is a perfect book. This book will bring a smile and reinforce your belief in true love. I enjoyed the book completely and strongly recommend it.
